Hi Professor Hoshida! I was hoping to find something under the FAQ for the f2f classes, however I can’t seem to find the link or…anything relating to it (probably due to bad eye sight) So I’ll just ask here: I’m thinking about taking your Transforming Autobiography into Creative Writing course in the Spring of 11. I was just wondering if you could give me an idea of what the class will be like? Specifically, I’m wondering if by the course description, the “autobiography” is in reference to the students’ own lives, or if students will be looking at professional autobiography and transforming it.
Thanks.
Hi,
I still haven’t completed the FAQs, so this is fine. As for the autobiography, the goal will be to write about your own life. The class is a mixed creative writing class and we’ll explore different writing genres, but you can definitely use the assignments to write about your own life. I haven’t taught this course for some time, so I haven’t completely figured out the format for the class, but you will primarily be writing for your own portfolio.
Hope that helps.
Scott
