This assignment is designed to help you discuss how you approach difficult readings. All of us, English instructors included, sometimes find reading to be difficult, confusing, or boring. Unfortunately, we will encounter this kind of reading all of our lives, and the better we get at comprehending it quickly, the better off we’ll be in the end.
Step 1: Read and Pay Attention
In this paper, you will read a difficult reading one time any way that you want. All you need to do is pay attention to what’s going on with your mind as you read. Are you skipping over things? What happens when you come across a difficult word?

In a 2-page essay, describe your two reading processes in detail. Explain if the new reading strategy did anything to your comprehension and how you might use that strategy or others in the future.
